As fluid flows through a pipe, frictional drag forces at the walls dissipate energy from the flow and thus reducing the pressure, or equivalently, the potential energy of the fluid in the pipe. A small resistor is equivalent to a large diameter pipe that will allow for a high flow rate, whereas a large resistor is equivalent to a small diameter pipe that greatly constricts the flow rate.

An electric current is defined as free flow of electrons and the motivating force behind that free flow of electrons is called Voltage. Voltage is the measurement of potential energy that would move the electrons between two points. Voltage is the push that the electrons require to move within a circuit. Voltage is measured by Volt and Current is measured by Ampere.

Ohm’s law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the potential difference across those two points. It means that more the resistance lesser current would flow. I=V/R This would apply to any component of a circuit. For example conductors would increase the current flow and the inductors would decrease it.

An intuitive way to understand the behavior of voltage and current in electronic circuits is to use hydrodynamic systems as an analogue. In this system, voltage is represented by gravitational potential or height of the fluid column, and current is represented by the fluid flow rate.

Circuit. Published at Saturday, December 16th 2017, 01:33:00 AM. First let’s understand the difference between these two terms. While electrical is the basis of everything, electronic is a subset of electrical. An electrical circuit deals with just the flow of electrons and has components like resistors, inductors and capacitors and uses Alternating Current Source; while electronic circuit deals with the transformation of current and controlling the motion of the electrons and uses Direct Current Source. An electrical circuit is termed as Passive because it doesn’t have any such component that reacts to the current/voltage that passes through them and electronic circuit is called active because of the additional components like diode or a transformer that react to the current/voltage that passes through.

The real part and imaginary part of impedance are interpreted as a resistive part that dissipates energy and a reactive part that stores energy. Resistors can only dissipate energy and therefore their impedances have only a real part. Capacitors and inductors can only store energy and therefore their impedances have only an imaginary part. When resistors, capacitors, and inductors are combined, the overall impedance may have both real and imaginary parts. It is important to note that the definition of impedance preserves the definition of resistance.

Diode. Published at Friday, December 15th 2017, 19:21:36 PM. If you are handling real diodes to build a circuit, you have to figure out which way to point the diode. Real-world diodes are so small there isn’t room to paint a little diode symbol on them, so you need to identify the terminals some other way.
